What are some good hunting sights? Its about off season for whitetails and ive been looking for a new sight? I love pendulums cause ima stand hunter but i also like the HHA optimizer 5500..... what do you guys think about Hunting sights?
I use the G5 Optix XR. Great sight, has "floating" pin that can be adjusted to different yardages, all you have to do is dial it in. Check 1 out
thanks alot im going to look into those. Can you explain the floating pin a little more for me sir, ive seen them before but just dont fully understand the take on them. The floating pin or smart pin as they call it, is the bottom pin on the sight. You can set the top 3 pins to whatever yardages you wish, and the bottom pin can be adjusted with the dial on the right side. So say they top 3 pins are set to 20,30,40, you can set the bottom pin to 45, 50, 55, etc. just by sighting it in and marking on the dial what the yardage is. The Axcel Armortech sight is the best I have tried/seen. The pins are fully enclosed so it is impossible to wreck the fiber optics on branches or anything, plus each pin is micro adjustable, aswell as all other settings. It is a little heavy but a great sight. Also a little expensive.

Axcel Armortech HD. Spot Hogg Hunter. I've had both, currently have the Axcel on my Assassin. Great sights. Super easy to sight in with the micro-adjustability.
Quality built sight. Micro adjustable gang adjustment and individual pin adjustment. Bright and straight forward.
I upgraded to an HHA DS-XL5500 and it served me well all season. The sight is built like a tank and performs flawlessly. I really like this single pin adjustable sight. I've taken four deer this season and there is still time for a fifth. I'm very pleased with this sight. C
I love being able to see lots of the deer when shooting one....Single pin or mabey 2 pins i shoot a very fast bow...flat to 37yrds so i dont need many pins i was almost going to get a tru glo pendulum cause i love being ground/stand ready
I too have been a big fan of pendulum sights, having used one now for over 20 years. The best one I have seen, and my current one, is a Trophy Ridge Mantis pendulum with v-drive. This sight is no longer made but you shouldn't have any trouble finding one on ebay or Archery Talk's classifieds. Blessings.....Pastorjim
The sight ring is sort of split in two and the front half swings. The v-drive is to move the whole sight up and down and side to side to adjust for ground shooting. Check out Black Gold I just purchased the Rush and it is in delivery should be here in 3 weeks...but the Vengiance is their top of the line and this year they made some considerable improvements including micro adjust for range and windage...great sights. Also can custom order the pins like top pin is 0.019 and the rest are 0.010 can also choose pin colors.
