What do you use. I started out shooting fingers and then went to an index finger release for hunting in 1995 but lately I switched to a thumb trigger. The other day I watched a video where a guy used a Back Tension for hunting. So I was curious to what everyone else uses while hunting.
I use a T.R.U. Ball ST360 Thumb Trigger, but I will be picking up a Carter Ember which will allow me to use my ring finger.
Fingers for bowfishing and trad bows. Some sort of caliper type tru-ball index release for hunting. (tru ball stinger?)
Index finger - caliper style...called a ZeroGap...very simple with a nylon strap you can slip on/off without any velcro, etc...I love how quick in goes on/off - had a backup one given to me as well...haven't seen one for sale in over 10 years...
I too started out with fingers and went to a standard index trigger style release. I've tried thumb releases and like the feel of the anchor, but could not get comfortable with that style trigger for hunting. I've also tried ring finger and middle finger trigger releases with similar results. I've since found a targe style release that still uses an index finger trigger. I've been very happy with it. This is what I've been using: http://www.bowhunting.com/shopping/Products/SCOTT-STINGRAY-RELEASE-CAMO__7004.aspx
tru fire finger release fold back ,great help when climbing . A friend has the back tension ,he uses it for target practice and training to eliminate trigger punching and has had good results so far and likes it
What if you shoot a caliper WITH back tension? Should I click two of the radio buttons? Scott Wildcat
A few scotts, all are the rope style to prevent twisting the string...I am too lazy to go look for the actual name.
