1. Not buy a single out of state tag (for whitetails) until the KY tag is filled. Spreading hunting time between 2 states at the same time really spread me too thin this year, especially since I didn't get out much in the first place. 2. IF I finally pull my Georgia Gator Tag (3rd year trying), make the trip down there to hopefully haul in 3 big lizards into my boat. 3. Pull off either a Alaska Caribou or a California Blacktail hunt in August. If my partner goes, it'll be Alaska. If i am left for a solo trip, it'll be the California Blacktails. 4. Keep my options open for any spring bear or hog hunt that comes available. I guess since January is technically a new year, although not a new season, I could throw in be successful out in Arizona in a week or so when we head out there. I have a grand total of $267 in this trip, just have to buy food and tags when I get there and that'll cover everything for a week long bowhunt out west.
I'd like to get a mount up on the wall, take a public land deer the lands by me are tough but I got a great spot for next year, get one set of gray wolf woolens gear
Shoot more this year in off season and...............already got the go ahead from my wife to go on another elk hunt this season, just don't know where yet. Lots of research to do!
To actually KILL what I am shooting at To take 3 deer with a bow and 2 with my gun ... see above post :p
My resolution is to practice more from elevated positions making my treestand shots more comfortable & consistent.
I need to drop some weight and get in shape so I'm not sweating my fat a$$ off when I get to my stand.
i just bought my first bow, a 55lbs hoyt recurve, i dont know why i bought one, Just randomly. I got it in october, Next thing you know My father buys me a gift subscription to bowhunter magazine, out of nowhere. For 2010 i think im goiung to pledge to go on my first hunt....
Mine is to hunt the wind more effectively next year. I wasted too many sits with bad wind and didin't see deer. Since we still have over a month to go in Ohio, I will start practicing that today!! Mack 34
Thats a tough one! Im moving to Idaho this spring so the main one will be finding land for me and my ole' man to get on. Hang quite a few stands. Hold out for a mature buck Also, I havent killed an elk in two years, would like to add some more bone to the wall.
I've tried numerous times. It is no fun. Made it 6 weeks the one time a couple years ago. So I rewarded myself with a pack for old time sake. Not smart !! LOL Felt great and was actually in a good mood the whole time I quit. Well the one pack turned into another pack. The drive to work ( 7 miles )... dinner break... the drive home were the real rough times for me that time. Sitting in a tractor for a month at a time is going to be the real rough one this year. I've got a pack and a half left... then NO MORE !!! I am feeling crabby thinking about so time for a smoke ! Tim
Work on lots of projects at the farm and take a turkey with my bow this spring. For the '10 deer season, same as always... Try to fill the feezer with doe meat, kill a buck I'm proud of, and most importantly have fun with some friends and family in the deer woods. Happy new years to you all
