I got back into hunting last year during deer season and I really enjoyed it. So much that I bought my first compound bow and it couldn't be any better. I've got a decent ameristep blind and turkey season is just around the corner. I went out yesterday and shot out of the blind to make sure all was good there and then went out into the woods where I would be hunting and did some scouting. I have been told that some turkeys have been seen during deer season and one other time in late Jan. but I can't seem to find any signs of them. Been looking for some feathers, tracks, poop...anything. I've also read where the birds are on the move so they may come into the area more or they may have gone all together. So do I need to start going out in the late afternoon and doing some crow or owl calls to see if I can locate some on the roost? I really hate to be sitting in a blind in an area where there will not be any turkeys... but I guess that is why they call it hunting and not just shooting. Just seems to me that I would find more tracks, feathers etc than I have...so far. Thanks
