I know podcast are popular these days and alot of them out there. Me personally have a hard time just listening to them, but i do on occasion. The only hunting one i can remember listening to is the one Justin did last year and i enjoyed it. It seemed more geared toward news and storys in the hunting industry.

Well I was invited on a local one near me to talk about hunting strategies and stories of hunting in this area. Is this something people are interested in listening to? Or are people more interested in past storys of hunts and kills. Im not sure the direction this thing is going to go, its up to the owners. Im a fairly shy person and really dont like to be recorded or be be on video. So should be interesting experience.

Any one ever do anything lile this? Also any pointers?

I will post the episode when it goes live also.

From my perspective, listening to stories is great, every once in a while. I'd prefer strategy and tactics (almost always). Live Wild by Remi Warren is the gold standard for a podcast to learn about hunting. He tells a story and a tactic related to the story, then breaks down the strategy in the second half. It's geared heavily towards mountain hunting, but many of the tactics can be applied to whitetail/ stand hunting as well.

So I haven't got to meet the guy yet. Its a friend of a friend who suggested me to go on. The podcast is a outdoor themed. So its a broad spectrum of topics. Im going on to specifically talk deer. I found out that they may do a 2 part series. One were i talk strategies. Then second one will be deer hunt storys. For some you guys that have been on here awhile know that some crazy thinkgs happen to me while deer hunting. I think they would be entertaining.

Do yourself a favor and talk to the guy directly, hard to put together meaningful thoughts when the focus is unknown.

I agree. So its 3 guys that host the podcast. I know 2 of them fairly well, just the main guy i haven't got to talk to. All 3 will be there during it. So i will know most of them. One of them I talk with and actually hunt with fairly regular.

Cool! Be sure to talk about how important it is to always have your cell phone in the tree stand with you.

I’d just see where it goes, stories, strategies, past experiences and lessoned learnt. You don’t have to force anything, you been doing it long enough you know what your talking about and lived it.

I think there style is more organic and just goes with flow. Dont think they do any research before hand. If they do, i didn't get any pre interview stuff.

Its all done. Had a good time. I was there for 4 hours just talking deer the whole time. Not sure how much was recorded for the show, think around 1 1/2 - 2 hours was recorded. I mostly talked about hunting tatics that i do. A few deer storys were thrown in. He also wants me to come back in a month and tell the story of specific buck hunts. Of course big antlers sell, so im sure he wants to hear about the story of my 200 incher.

Onch the thing is posted on YouTube, I will post the link here for anyone interested in the listen. I cant stand to have myself on video or listen to my own voice, so i will see if i even listen to it, haha.
