Are the site managers people that work for the DNR or are they private employees? I need to start researching jobs available through the DNR seeing as I'll be graduating in about 2 1/2 years. I'm mostly interested in monitoring the deer and turkey populations and researching them. Hopefully I can find a job around here that interests me and pays enough to be worth taking. Otherwise, I'll probably move down south where it's a little warmer and work at as a zoologist or something.
Site managers are employees of the DNR. It's a good idea to start researching jobs now. The good money is with the private employers. IL is a bad idea when it comes to job security in the DNR. I'd recommend looking at invasive species research too. They're not going away any time soon and they effect more than just hunters.
Might be off topic, but... Gen 27:3 "Now then, please take your gear, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me" It does not say "Except for Sunday". He said go do it! lol. If you read that in itself, it makes it a whole lot better. If you find out who is saying that, it ruins it. Hey, if it's in the Bible, then why not.
Well I am a minister and I have frequently showed up just in time for services wearing full camo. I drop my boots on the front steps and walk in in my socks. I make announcments in full camo and nobody cares because they know me. Everyone knows when hunting season hits, I will be out about once a month and will probably show up in camo sometime in between.
It would be really stupid if it were religion based, but I don't hunt on Sundays anyway. I go to church in the morning, and watch football all afternoon. Football is the only thing more important to me than hunting.
For those who live in states that do not allow Sunday hunting I have a question for you. Is this determined by the DNR or do they hold some kind vote state wide?
