I still haven't taged a deer for bow or gun.now that guns over I have just under a month to try and tag a deer with a bow. Ive been pretty mobile this yr , trying to find deer. Fund some new public land with standing corn with oak trees and water near by. What thing have you done to tag a late season deer? What about the second rut tactics? Weather been warm is food and water good to be hunting during day light hrs? Should I try to get close to bedding areas? The only advantage I really have is I have off work during the week , so I get the woods mostly to myself.

Definitely hunt around food sources. The main rut is over and the deer, bucks especially, need to fatten up to face winter and other than a little interest in the second rut, their main interest will be food.

Late season I think rabbit cover ...if it isn't thick enough to jump a rabbit in its probably not thick enough to hold pressured deer.

During late season I always hunt on the edge of a large thicket and catch them coming out in the evening. This thicket is their sanctuary when things get busy, they know it's safe within.

I would hunt the food. It is still really warm here compared to what is normal. The deer are still not grouped up for winter.

Listen to most of these guys. Food and cover. I often find it difficult on the "big woods" state forest I hunt to nail down what they are eating late season but I have had some success hunting on the edges over trails coming out of of very thick cover. PA rifle season has the deer frazzled but luckily they get a couple week break before late archery/flintlock season comes in.

Going off the pictures I'm getting, it will involve joining a tribe because I'm getting nothing during daylight.

I agree with hunting food sources. These deer will be hammering the food sources now.

Between bedding areas and food. But if you aren't 100% that the deer are bedding there, its a waste of time because they won't move more than they have to

I did put out a Mineral Block on Thanksgiving and they have been all over that the last week. At night of course.

If you hunt in the part of the state where bait is legal.
