I can't believe no one has said the CUTCO. By far the best knife I have ever had. I have 2 of them. Send them back to resharpen, which they do for no charge, just pay freight. If after time they can no longer sharpen it, guess what????? They send you a brand new one. Awesome knife, will never by another knife for skinning, quartering, gutting or whatever.

I got mine off a friend called Robtattoo , its a Huntsman . He moved from UK to Tennessee 3yrs ago , although he's not making them right now , I'm hoping he'll soon have a shop up and running . Search for Robtattoo Knives on Google and you'll know why I love my Huntsman .

Bought a nice gerber on black friday online for a really good price. Add that to my small case knife and now I'm set. :D

After years and hundreds of dollars spent buying knives I found the one knife to end my madness. To me, a hunting knife must be made in America and be of good knife steel. I've followed Buck for years. Although pricey, this knife is a home run and I will not be buying a new knife for a long time.

(NOTE: You can find them for less money with an internet search. I prefer S30V knife steel)

...and I have the little folder too. It can field dress the biggest game animals easily.

My brother makes custom knives. I have several of them ( I have an "in" with the guy). This one is the one I currently carry. We came up with this design for whitetail usage. It has a 4 1/2" blade made from S35VN steel. He gets them scary sharp and they hold an edge for a long time. He also makes all of the sheaths that go with them. Best knives that I've ever used.

I have a stainless steel Spyderco Delica 4 with a VG10 blade, I love that knife. I actually shaved my beard off with it when I first got it

I'm pretty pleased with my Buck omnihunter fixed blade with gut hook. It's stout enough to split the breast plate on a good doe, holds a fine edge, and is an adequate size to cape with. The gut hook is an added bonus, but I haven't figured out how I'll sharpen it if I ever need to. I think I only paid 45$ at bass pro for it too, that's tough to beat.

On a side note, like many of you, I prefer to buy American when I can. Beware of the smaller folding pocket knives by buck, I was cabelas planning to buy one for wifey to keep in her purse, and to my dismay "hecho in china".
