How big of a knife do you need to gut a deer?

A former regular had gutted deer with a broadhead and a separate occasion a pen knife.

    Me, I like the havalons...blades are 2.75", I believe.

I’ve always wanted one of the Havalon knives. For some reason I just never got one.

I started with the orange one super lightweight. Actually bought it off the bh.com shop. But I got a bit aggressive trying to split a rib cage and broke the blade stop pin out of the moulded plastic handle. It's a scary sharp scalpel. The scalpel blades snap easily if you try to pry or get into bone/joints. Slicing is aces. I usually get about an elk or a few deer out of a single blade, if I don't break the blade.

I bought the Shockey edition (Grey) knife as it has a the rigid blade and replaceable blade scalpel. Down side bulk and weight.

I like my esee camplore and lionsteel. Both are small and sharp enough to shave with 0D36DDA4-64AF-4B5A-893F-D451D7C62076.jpeg
