What are y'all's thoughts on hunting in the rain? The past few days it has been raining here in IN am I've wanted to go out but I don't have a blind to get out of the elements. Sent from my Z971 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
The only time you should not hunt is when you are tagged out or at night. I actually love the rain, it affects the deer's senses and might give you the edge you need. https://shop.bestreviews.com/produc...XJXYNZN583VM9rJmz6HuoKNBS8UN_uikaAoV7EALw_wcB This is the best invention and I will never go back to sitting in a blind.
That's great for staying dry, but there's always the issue of being able to trail a deer when it's raining, maybe washing away the trail.
I will hunt the rain when it is light drizzle and scheduall to end or at the very least not turn into a hard rain. IMHO most archery deer do not drop in sight and part of the art is the trailing skill
I LOVE hunting the rain. For reasons above with the affecting their senses and also being able to sneak in a stand super quiet. This is when I hunt my bedding stands. Deer just seem to move to me a lot when it’s wet. Only thing I don’t like is not being able to hear them coming either. Mathews Halon Black Eagle outlaws Magnus Buzzcut 4 blades Nasty combo
So since everyone seems to enjoy hunting in the rain, I am out in the stand now while it is raining. Just a slight drizzle though. I'm hoping to get one before season closes Jan. 6 Sent from my Z971 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
