hunting in the rain

    I was just wondering if hunting in the rain gives you a better advantage of seeing more deer. Tell me what you think.

    I like not being able to hear me walk. Gives you a sneak in and out advantage along with walking up on deer as I have had happen before.

    I'll hunt in the rain but my shot selection changes. I'll only take extremely high percentage shots knowing the tracking is going to be difficult.

    I have seen some movement in light rain and its usually bigger bucks up and moving. That being said, I am usually out in those conditions.

    As for seeing more deer, I believe deer move much less when two senses are compromised. Example would be heavy rain and wind while foliage is still on. It reduces sight and sound. Another example is snow and heavy winds. In cases like these best to hunt prior and right after when conditions improve. In less extreme conditions there is movement, many times very good movement.
