What do you think bow hunting will be like in 10-15 years?? Will it be the same? Will bows be shooting 500fps?? Will broadheads have a 4in cutting diameter, ect?

    What do you think??

Not to be "Debbie Downer" here, but with the politicians we (they) are electing, hopefully there will still BE hunting. :bash:

I think bows will have laser sights that you can see with special glasses. You can just aim and put the laser bullseye on the deer, and bingo you are blasting it! Bows will be shooting 550 feet per second. The broadheads of the arrows will detach like the space shuttle atlantis and hit the deer without that shaft. Inside each broadhead will be a gps tracking chip.

It will be whatever each of us wants it to be. As easy, hard, hi-tech, lo-tech, complicated, uncomplicated..........

After accounting for game laws, hunting is what you make it.

Well, if I compare to what it was 10 years back...nothing has changed for me that pertains to the actual hunt and shooting of game, except marketing has increased and all products (bows for sure) have jumped in price.
Access has changed a bunch though, in that you can no longer get access around here unless paying $45/acre or more for a lease. Maybe 10 years from now it will swing back the other way.
Digital Trail cams are the only major change I have noticed in last 10 years for my hunting group

I'd put a lot of money bows will NOT be shooting anywhere near that speed, unless the whole bow/arrow combination of today is done away with in lieu of a completely different more efficient system. Here is a VERY interesting article on the ceiling for speed of compound bows in general.

    http://www.huntersfriend.com/bow-review-400-fps-bow/400-fps-compound-bow.htm

I'd say they will continue to get slightly faster, much quieter and smoother though. I think soon the industry will hit its ceiling or flooding point of commercialization.

I think the main difference will be the lack of land to hunt, atleast without paying a premium for a lease.

All over the board here, but a few thoughts of mine - Technology will continue to increase - participation will continue to decrease. Suburban deer hunting will be the hotest ticket in town. Make friends with your local politicians and golf course owners now.

I thought the same thing after I posted earlier...in 10 years I'm sure my arrows will be slower, heavier, and be coming out of a wooden bow...and every kill will be equally exciting.
And I hope my kids are bowhunting with me no matter what kind of bow they use.

Ten to fifteen years from now, I plan on being the cameraman/mentor of at least one young bowhunter. My first born is two weeks old and I hope he won't be an only child, but I am really looking forward to sharing the woods in the coming years.

In 10-15 years, I just hope I am alive and still enjoying life to the fullest. No telling where I will be calling home, or where I will be hunting annually, but I can bet it will be with a bow in hand after some critter with horns/antlers.

I have NO idea what our future holds.

But I doubt I'll be doing it as much.

Well, I have a 3 boys, 7, 4, and 1. So I will be showing kids the fascination of the outdoors for the next 15 years. I see less emphasis on deer hunting and more on small game and fowl. Maybe even start fishing again.

To stay on subject, I don't see equipment changing that much. I agree with others, access will become the issue and only the wealthy will be hunting private land. It's almost to that point now, but 10 more years of the outdoor channel will make it that much worse.

    lol..

I have no idea what's in store for bowhunters years down the road. Probably 1000x more unneccessary "gear". Who knows how fast bows will be, or what crazy accessories will be put on the market. I just hope nothing happens to our freedom to hunt. For my lifetime and the lifetimes of the ones I leave behind.
