I have an area of field i would like to turn into a food plot. Its a well traveled area but I don't have any large trees for a treestand. I want to be elevated and not have to spend big money on a tripod system. I will be using this for bow/gun seasons and its in Lower Michigan.

    What are some recommendations?

I have some of the same issues and was thinking of just attaching a 2x4 to the back of a ladder stands and have it straddle two smaller trees.

If the trees can support your weight then just build one. During NY's rifle season that's all i hunt out of.
