Since I hunt on public land I am not able to use a motorized vehicle outside of the parking areas. I have thought about trying to ride my bike with my climbing stand, bow, and backpack and am wondering if anyone else has any tips for this or DIY ideas...
I was watching an episode of born and raised outdoors where they used mountain bikes with a tow behind child cart to carry equipment in and pack an elk out on mountain roads. Looked like it worked great Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If I were to do it I would carry the stand on my back then have a back pack that holds a bow and strap the back pack on to the stand just like I walk in like that but with the bow back pack and I would put my sticks across the handle bar
i'll try to take pics of my setup; but basically i have a hang on with sticks attached to a milk crate -bike seat cargo carrier. put the pack in the crate and carry the bow with a sling
Haha, these ideas are awesome. I actually have a double child carrier for a bike, which I have never even thought of using. Looking forward to trying it out! THanks everyone!
I ride my mountain bike 3x a week. I was going to suggest yard sales and find an old burly kids cart. But sounds like your already there. It should work great! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I bought a set of Kolpin Ratcheting Rhino Grips to put on the handle bars to hold my bow. I haven't had a chance to use them yet but they seem like they're made pretty well and they adjust to multiple angles.
my milk crate stand holder didnt work so well on my bike; going to need to change something next year; also, carrying a bow with a sling is not fun either....
