No, not daydreaming about hunting, I’m talking about really dreaming about hunting… Any of yuall have game hunting dreams? I certainly do plenty of killing in my dreams, but it’s usually zombies, random attackers, vampires, defending my family & the like. Frequently, *I* and the one being hunted and am defending myself. I can’t recall that that I have every really had a hunting game dream scenario until last night. In typical fashion, the elk was a hard to kill as a zombie… So I had a dream last night... my family was in Colorado and a guy we met was complaining about elk in his yard wishing someone would come take care of them! I volunteered and went over. In typical dream fashion it ended up being me and 2 buddies there and this spike comes sauntering in and I put an arrow in him... in his HEAD! As the elk is running around half injured, I stick him again... in the head again! He's flopping and thrashing around, breaking off his spike antlers, I walk up to him and arrow him in the chest. This STILL does not put him down and I pull out my knife and slit his throat! He's bleeding horribly, flopping around and goes limp. The homeowner comes out and is congratulating me, and I see that the elk is STILL breathing… and starts to jump up again! I tackle him again and strip all the flesh from his throat to his chest with my knife. His head is only attached by his spine and he is STILL ALIVE! After lopping his head completely off, he finally expires… This is from a random dream interpretation website: Hunting To dream that you are hunting suggests that you are seeking or pursuing some inner desire, either emotional or physical. You may be "hunting" for a solution or for a sexual conquest. To dream that you hunt and kill an animal signifies that you are trying to repress or destroy an instinctive part of yourself. To dream that you are being hunted indicates that you are being overwhelmed by life's challenges. To see someone else hunting an animal in your dream suggests that you are trying to locate a hidden aspect of your own self. You be trying to indirectly approach a challenge or situation Of course, any of the above interpretations could apply at this point in my life…
I haven't had a dream that I can actually remember after waking up in a long time. I never really reach REM anymore as I toss and turn and wake up every hour or or two. Everyone dreams but remembering it is the challenge. Not sure I'd like to have a zombie elk dream like that, I prefer the boobie kind.
I can't remember a hunting dream (although I'm sure I had many on the night before opening mornings when I was much younger). However... I'm going to go to bed tonight and dream real hard about Melissa Bachman and me hunting!
