I'm heading up to my roommates dad's section next week that I have a muley permit for. The hunt sounds pretty slam dunk. So now that my buck permit will hopefully be gone, i'll be left with 4 doe tags. Has Anyone ever hunted soley for does during the rut??

Whats a good strategy? call? sit still in the stand and shut up? spot and stalk?

    Thanks!

Man, I wish I had your confidence! I say shoot your buck and the does can work themselves out! Good luck to you!

    Sign me up !!!

If you'll have your buck tag filled, why not shoot some doe ?

I would just hunt in areas around food sources, like normal. You'll probably see a bunch of doe and get to watch some bucks running them...Should be entertaining.

That is my dilemma now. I've tried can calls in the past, but I can't say they worked for me. I don't necessarily know if it was the can's fault though. I'm not a good calller w/ any implement. I'm curiuos to see what the forum has to say regarding this topic.

Are you hunting Mulie does? I have no experience there.

I have gone out a few times after does during the rut, pretty much I just hunt as if I were still looking for a buck, because most of the bucks I've shot recently were trailing does. So just aim for the front deer instead of the back one :)
