My buck standards are stringent...I don't make exceptions, if there are no bucks old enough on one property I'll move to another. Again though, my standards are based on age structure not antlers. To me an old buck 5+ is where a trophy starts. If I need meat I'll take does. If no doe tags are available then I'm back to moving to a different property.
    Rules.
    1. Only 5+ old bucks
    2. Need meat take does
    3. Rules 1 and 2 are a no go on a property then move along.
    4. If Management for age structure is not important then shoot what's there.

I have a nice 12 point on camera in multiple locations on the farm as well as a big 10, 9 and 8. All would make a dandy addition to the wall. At the same time there are many many other smaller bucks that will get a pass. You can shoot huge bucks by killing big bucks. You have to let the big bucks become huge by passing but above all, shoot wht makes you happy. Hunt for you and enjoy your kills.

All good advise and I thank everyone for answering. I'll let you know what I decide when and if the opportunity presents itself.
