I've been using the Old Town Hunter for a number of years now, and it was time to give it a little love.

Here are some successful before photos...

Now, it got a bunch of epoxy, a new paint job, new decals, new trolling motor and wiring, cedar battery tray, and new handles. Today she hit the water for a brief test spin.

Just one more reason that I'm excited for fall! I can't wait to get her bloody again :tu:
The trolling motor cuts the canoe commute time in half, without smelling like a gas station.

Shoot, I might even fish out of this rig...

    Nice!

My canoe has foam sponsons on the side. Kendall's has clamp on outriggers. You might want to look into getting some. They can make a huge difference in stability.

I originally used mine for trapping and there was no way I wanted to go swimming in the lake in November. :)

You can kind of see the sponsons in this picture.

Very nice!!! That has to be a great way to get back and forth to your hunting spot. I can imagine it is a beautiful and peaceful ride there and back.

I really want to do something like this soon...

There's an area of public ground in Illinois that's not accessible by car, but it does have a small waterway running through it... I've wanted to hunt it forever, and something like this would be the ticket.

Wow, good job Fitz. It looks brand new.

How late into the season will you use it?

Thanks guys! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. There was one morning last fall with clear skies and the lake was glass. The ride across the lake was amazing with the reflection of Orion and the Milkyway in the water :tu:

I'll use it until I'm out of tags or I have to replace it with these...
