I guess to me it has never made much difference to bowhunt with friends or not for whitetails.

I mean...we aren’t' going to sit in the same tree or blind so we wouldn't really be hunting together anyway would we?

I will usually give some of the guys a call after a sit to see what they saw that day.

I do go to a rifle deer camp each year on some public land with friends and also some occasional bird hunting with them.

I like having a hunting buddy, but I don't want to be within site of him... mostly I want to come back to the camp for a post hunt beer and BS...

another thing, I don't like being in the woods by myself for safety reasons... I almost always have a hunting buddy and we carry a 2way in case of emergency...

I agree with that 100%... My only true hunting buddy is my little brother. I bring some of my good friends to the farm sometimes to hunt, but I definitely prefer to hunt solo. I love being in the woods completely alone, except for the critters.

Jim, hope everything works out for you. I'm sure you have surprises down the road for this fall, who knows you may find you like to hunt alone better or you may find a new hunting buddy.
