I just picked up a new bow and dropped from 70 to 60. The price was right and I have a partially torn labrum in my left shoulder. I figured i'd should put the ego aside and look to the long term. I can certainly still draw a 70 (or 80), but just don't find it necessary. I barely shoot much past 25-30 yards at a deer anyway.
Test your accuracy for your self, it's fun to do. Set your limbs to highest lbs, if you can shoot that of course, and shoot 10 arrows from 50-60 yards. Measure group. Give yourself some rest time. Turn bow down 5 lbs and do it again. Rest again, go down another 5 lbs, shoot again. You should see a point that the poundage doesn't greatly effect your groups anymore. Set at highest poundage of best groups...as long as a legal hunting poundage of course.
