One would think you’d be notified if they were going to be doing that on your property. I have two easements that border my suburban house (one electric company and one sewer district) and always get letters with dates they’ll be working and what they’ll be doing. Not sure how it works in rural areas with those main power lines. That would freak the heck out of me.

The ironic thing about this is I read this story two weeks ago and last week I saw one trimming by our property.

I wonder if he had his tree harness on and he disconnected to jump or didn't have one on at all.

That is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. No reason why they couldn't contact the landowner and inform him of what was going to happen. Glad to see he is alright.

Alright, so maybe there is one scenario where a safety harness would not be beneficial.

They trimmed the powerlines on my land this spring. That is a wicked cool saw they use!

At least they contacted me first. :D

I was thinking the same thing man as I was playing the scenario out in my mind. Also, he had to hear that thing coming as loud as it is.

That shouldn't happen... glad he's alright. That seems really dangerous for the pilot as well.
