Did some e-scouting of some public land close to me for possible day sits. Seems like all the spots I had picked out, are packed full with vehicles today out hanging stands. Those were the spots that jumped out at me as the best pinch points, funnels, food sources. May just hang a stand right next to the parking lot

2 years ago one of my best stands was 50 yards off the parkinglot, saw deer almost every sit and ended up taking a doe out of it!

That may actually be the best solution if it is really being hit hard. One of my favorite spots is only 150 yards from an interstate and 200 from the parking lot. It gets overlooked because you have to cross a creek to get to it.

those mature does and bucks will bed close to the road and or trucks because they know where you are when you and come back.. I remember few years ago, we putting together a dog drive at cross section road about 15 trucks and 20 people talking and laughing and being rednecks..we line the block up and i got on the stand at the corner where we all gathered, of course after the trucks left, i stepped over into the woods not 10 yards from where were just 15 mins prior making all sorts of racket and low and behold a doe got up right there and I killed her on the jump.. she laid right there the entire time we were there carrying on.. this happens quite a bit actually. Don't be afraid to at least look close by...or go where nobody wants or thinks about going.

Hunt during the week if you can, weekends tend to be much busier.

2 of my favorite public land sets are less than 100 yards from the parking lot...

With that many people, figure out escape routes and hang your stand.

Find the biggest block of timber you can find without any crop fields. People shy away from those spots....

I hunt one spot on public ground that I do just like that. Probably 125 yards from truck. I can keep an eye on who is coming in and out. Almost always take a couple does out of there. Much better for dragging, too!!
