hunt the scrapes?

    should i be hunting the scrapes right now or hunting the acorns.seems like the scarpes are being hit pretty good .but there not in a thick area.I have a couple days off toward end of week so have to make decision.

    i would hunt the scrapes. i would put some you buck p on them and use doe pee about 15 yards from it to pull the big bucks in thinking there is a hot doe in the area and a young bucks trying to get at her. good luck with whatever you pick man

    I might be wrong by saying this, but depending on where you are located it might not be the best idea.I read somewhere that if the rut is in full swing, bucks typically ignore their pre-rut scrape lines and concentrate on chasing does. I shot my buck 2 weeks ago off of a scrape line, but this time of year I would focus my attention to funnels and inside corners. All depends on the stage of the rut.

    If some of the more experienced chime in and I'm wrong, I apologize ahead of time.

    I would be hunting where the does are feeding. Eventually the buck will find the does. Besides that, scrapes taste like dirt and I hate acorns.
    They constipate me.

    the rut is on here in Texas, and I'm still seeing fresh scrapes....
