Just wondering if anyone has ever swapped out hunts. For example midwest rut archery hunt for southeast rut archery hunt. Or anything similar. I know that there are a lot of different situations but it would allow you to hunt different areas in different types of terrain and different types of deer. A friend of mine did this this year on a few turkey hunt and it worked out good for both parties.
Actually yes. Well.... sort of... I had a FL turkey hunt lined up for my kid, and with only 10 days out, the guy we were supposed to go through just went poof be gone. Lucky for us we didn't pay for anything at that point, but still. Then when I tried to cancel my vacation I was told I was stuck with it because I was under 30 days. That's when someone from the Texas Hog Hunters Association stepped up and offered my kid a hunt in TX for free. We went, had a blast, and I offered him a deer or bear hunt here in MN since he refused any money, to which he replied he'd gladly take me up on a bear hunt in the Fall of 2018. So I still owe him my half. It's a great and potentially cheap way to hunt some pretty cool places.
My father and I did a swap hunt going on 6 years ago now. Swapped a Maine black bear hunt for a Midwest whitetail hunt. We have since become great friends with the guy we swapped with, and have made the trek to IL the last 5 years during the peak rut in November! He has also come to Maine the last 4 years the first week of bear season. It has turned out well for both parties!
I have been swapping hunts for 15 years will be offering spring hunt for black bears with lodging in Northern Ontario on 600 km² a bear management area 2018 will be the third year that spring bear hunt has been open for non-resident This could be for more than one person I have been swapping hunts for the last 15 years and has been all great I'm looking for pronghorn hunt or mule deer I have 7 PP for Wyomig mule deer 4PP for pronghorn Does not have to be Wyoming anywhere where I have a chance on getting a tag Thank you for looking
I met a guy last year through church who's family owns a ranch in the bighorn mountains of Wyoming. He has killed a bull elk there every year since he was 12. But he has never killed a whitetail. So we became quick friends, and we are going to swap an Iowa whitetail hunt for a Wyoming Elk hunt. It should work out well. the zone I live in will take him 4 years to draw a tag, and the unit he lives in will take me 4-5 to draw an elk tag.
That’s Awesome for you guys to be able to swap I did swap a bear hunt for deer hunt in union county Iowa in 2013 best place in the world I would love to go back there
Is that where you shot the deer in your profile pic? Post a better photo of it if you have one handy.
Anyone wanna exchange a hunt for a giant thank you? Definitely cool option for guys with access to quality animals to experience different hunts. I gotta start thinking outside the box Sent from my SM-G930P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
We actually met a couple from Utah a few years ago at the International Lineman's Rodeo. They had never hunter whitetail, and we have never hunted mulies or elk. They stayed and hunted whitetails after the rodeo this year, so we are starting to try for our elk and mulies, in Utah. We have met some new great friends!
