Your post inferred that you didn't want to have to try and explain it.

Although from your posts, it's probably best that you don't try to explain it.

So do you sensor her from the world?

As a father of a girl in her formative years, I guess I just wish the world was a better place for her future. Like I said, we try not to sensor her because there will be no filters when she's out on her own, but it seems like all the outlandish behavior that gets celebrated on tv and in the media has desensitized us to it and people have just started to believe it's acceptable behavior.

A question was posed. How does he impact any of us. I provided how.

I prefer not lying to my children. so I tell them the truth, it is not normal, it is not proper, it is not correct. I do not believe Jenner is mentally ill. I believe his entire transformation has been done for the sole purpose of garnering attention and making money, and in my book that makes him a freak.

Seems like a fairly mild impact.

Like I said, probably best you not try to explain it

Of course I do, it's my job. I literally don't care , and my not caring trickles down to my kids.

I have a hard time believing that. Does she not have friends?

It's really not that hard guys,
We don't have cable, I have internet filtered in my house and on her phone. She has done a terrific job picking out her friends. She was taught to pick friends on her level or above with character. Picking friends with lower character values will drag you down.

It won't affect your family until it does. Like having your wife or daughter go to the girls room and have a grown man posing as a woman in there with them.

I'd also like to point out that just because a person may read an article does not mean that he directly supports or agrees with that company or the article that he read. I understand that those places operate on a numbers, clicks basis, and now understanding that I will do my best to not support these agendas either directly or indirectly. To put it another way, it would be like saying that you directly support drinking and driving by going inside a gas station. They sell alcohol there, people buy alcohol there, and some of them will ultimately drink and drive. By you buying your gas or some other item at the gas station means you support drinking and driving.

I can understand her not watching him and the kardashians, I won't let my girls watch them either. but they still know who he and they are. In order to completely filter Him or them out you would have to disconnect the internet completely and not allow her phone to connect. they still have friends and you can't control what they watch, they still go to school where you cannot control all her classmates or teachers.

and I would also say, having a child be so sheltered that they don't even know who the Kardashians or Jenner are can be just as dangerous as letting them do whatever they want.

Ok, you got me on the word freak. Doesn't change my statement or position on this topic. And I still haven't been given other examples or an explanation as to what is wrong with this country, and the point to this thread. All I see is Jenner all over it.

And really people, we cant talk to our kids? That's why this upsets us, because we don't feel like having a conversation with them? As pointed out, that's so lazy. Im lucky enough to not have kids. But I probably talk to my dog enough to have explained this 10 ways.

Brings up a good point for this thread, since its about whats wrong with the country and not about Jenner. Why cant parents talk about "tough" topics wit their kids these days? So often I see people from the hunting community complain that people don't teach their kids more about gun safety for example. But ask them same people to talk to their kids about sex, or big bang theory, or transgender, and they panic and say the world is ending. Ok, they don't say that, they come cry on a forum about the country sucks. Maybe we need to look into some adult classes on parenting? Not saying you are bad parents, but saying some need some lessons on talking to their kids, and teaching them to not learn only from 1 source, be it media, religion, or even your view. At the end of the day, most things we complain about are simply opinion and not fact. Some aren't, like e have plenty facts supporting gun rights or the good hunters do. But things like dumb reality shows are just that, opinion. And if in your opinion they are dumb, change the channel. Someone listed a bunch of shows above. Ive heard of 2 of them. These things do not effect me because I do not allow them. And should one day I be cursed with a child, I will have no problem explaining something like transgender and my personal view on the subject, that does not scare me one bit.

Only used it because it's a "dislike", had it been a "hate" button, I'd have held off.

It doesn't affect me me personally so I mostly just tune it out. I can't nor want to control what others do with their bodies.

With the birth of my son recently I'm concerned about the world he'll grow up in. When I went to the bar I was 99.9% sure that when I hit on a woman it was a woman. My offer to buy her a drink didn't come with the question of...so, have you always been a woman?

It's scary to think that my son will need to ask questions like those.

Again, I'm concerned what kind of society we'll be living in in another 25 years. It's a slippery slope in my eyes.

haha I highly doubt that because one guy publicly is going through a transition that the percent is really doing to go down from 99.9%. Its being a little dramatic to think one day well have to ask if a girl was once a guy. And this is not a new thing, it has been going on for years. The first one was in the 1930s (wiki). Not to mention its a very long and expensive process, so not like just anyone can wake up and say hey, I want to be a chick today.
