Well I will find out on that Tuesday if the fish are swimming because after camp is setup that will be one of the first things I am going to do that day!

I grew up fishing & hunting along the Kishwaukee River (same river the campground is next to) about 3-4 miles East of Garden Prairie. Find the backwaters and you will find the carp!! Your buddy is correct, there are a ton of carp and suckers in the river. There are also bullhead, catfish, northern and smallies for the traditional fishermen. Not sure if there is rocks/sandy areas in that stretch of the river for the smallies, though.
