The rack the DNR officer is holding.....I saw the same pic 2 weeks ago on AT. Said it was killed in central IL??

I hope the guy gets in serious trouble, he's a slow learner.

Too bad it was poached. Another sour grape for hunters.

It cracks me up, every time there's a true MONSTER buck taken (whatever way) you hear that it came from like 2 or 3 different states. Funny.

Maybe so in your opinion, but my opinion is based upon my extreme being. I'm pretty tired of our society cuddling bad guys, especially repeat offenders! It doesn't go beyond reason to think that this guy didn't kill a child. That deer, if legally taking, could have provided a huge amount of protien to starving children, right? Obviously the prior "slaps" didn't work. So, we'll slap him on the wrist again...makes no sense whatsoever. It's sort of like putting the fox back in the hen house for the third time and expecting a different outcome... I think Ben called that insanity.

The math it takes for a 8 point to even ever reach 190" is astonishing.

I hear of them coming from about 12 different states.

So I'm not sure whats so funny?

I think he just meant that the same buck is often incorrectly rumored to come from different states than where was actually taken.

I'm not defending the guy in the least, but I've been in the situation where you see a buck of a life-time (not quite, world class, like this one), after having filled a buck tag. Let me tell ya many scenerios go through your mind... I admired mine and watched it walk out of my life.

I told many people about my encounter, including Taxidermists, Hunting Video maker/sellers, and many normal "hunters".

The reply I got was overwhelming.."That's why I buy my wife, son, daughter a license". "That's why I don't tag my deer"...etc

If you think that he is the only one putting one down after filling his "only" buck tag..you are WAY off.

The pressure of a 1 tag State is, once your done...your done.

Hence, the difference between a poacher and a hunter...

Let's call a duck a duck and stop turning a blind eye! We stand to lose if we don't!
