I bought one of these a few weeks ago & used it for the first time on Friday. Highly recommended. These things are slick. I was amazed @ how simple they make putting up a stand/stix. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Like kern said it took a little while to trust it but man is it nice to have both hands to hang a stand! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Love mine!! Will never try to hang another stand without it!! Hands are free to do what you need to do instead of using one arm to hang on.
Wouldn't hang a stand without one. Once you come to trust it, you won't look back! Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
Anything you guys do to make moving the belt up the tree as you climb easier? Still trying to get used to mine.
^This sums it up^ It takes using it to get use to it. Take your time! As you go higher, the tree gets narrower. So, with me being right-handed, I keep the adjustment to my left and I tighten it as I go up the tree.
Being a Journeyman Lineman there are definitely tricks to climbing with one. I'm not sure what the safety is like that they come with but it is probably too light to work like the safety we use. I made my own to use when doing treestand work. It is made out of 1/2" rope and is adjustable for big or small trees. Any questions just let me know. Good luck and be safe out there.
The worse thing about these so called fall restraint-linemans belts are, most put the d rings to high. This puts all the pressure right in the middle of your back. An actual climbing belt is made to be worn around your hips. This takes the pressure off of your back, and is much MUCH more comfortable. I have a two d belt I wear just to hang stands, it also has a homemade adjustable rope. I also have been a lineman for 18 years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
