Let the bow pick you. If the Z7X fits you better than the Carbon Element get the Mathews. If the Carbon Element fits better get it instead. Its all up to you, and your shooting style.

I shot both too and bought the z7 because it felt better to me! Both great bows but its all personal preference. There's a lot of other great bows too that might be a better fit for you. Shoot them all!

I shot both as well and I'll be getting my z7x tomorrow after work.

The element was amazing, it was light, the draw was very smooth and it felt like you could hold it for days. But I didn't like the way it felt during the shot.

I love the size of the Mathews, I am setting up 2 ground blinds on my property to try next year. The bow felt balanced, the draw wasn't quite as smooth, but the release was great. I like the way it shot a lot better.

Just make sure you try all you can. I shot a few bowtechs also.

I shot both and ended up with the Hoyt. The z7 extreme felt very top heavy even before shooting. Both very good bows.

Well one thing you can say for sure is that the Z7 and the carbon element is very alike. Both very smooth, very quit, and pretty fast too (if your into that), and very forgiving.

Generally the Z7 is very popular, so the hoyt is kinda the underdog. But what you can be 100% sure about, is that the hoyt is very trustworthy. It won't ever let you down.

I just decided to go with a PSE Dream Season Evo over the Z7, but the Z7 is also a great choise.

Sometimes just go with the underdog is funny because everybody else have the Z7.
If you can't decide flip a coin, both bows are a great choice.

    Good Luck!

Did the same thing... Shot the Hoyt Element and the Z7 Extreme.. But also shot the Bowtech Destroyer 350... JUST FOR ME, the Bowtech was the smoothest and had the least hand shock.. Not to mention the speed was awsome... Chrono'd 345 with the Victory HV arrows shooting 71.5 lbs and 29.5 inch draw.. The feel of the bow was what sold me and everyone has their own feel... All are good bows, but remember that YOU are the one paying for it and have to shoot it.. Get what is BEST for YOU, not what is most popular... Good luck..

Of those 2 the Carbon Element is the hands down winner, IMO. That is what it comes down to, personal opinion. Your opinion may differ, that is why there are so many bows to choose from. Shoot them until there is a clear winner. Like others have said, try other bows as well.
