Hi there i was hoping someone cold help me out. I have a 2012 Carbon Element RKT. After about a few months of having it, i started to get problems with my limbs, the started to peel of on the top layer that was camo, on the limb and started to splinter off on the sides. I was able to get new limbs sent from hoyt under warranty. However, what got sent to me were the limbs from a 2013 carbon element g3. I just recieved them and havent taken them to a shop yet to get switched. I was just wondering if those limbs will fit on the bow, im pretty sure they will. Was just hoping a hoyt guy on here would know for sure. Thanks guys.
I'm not sure. I would go get a professional opinion from your local bow shop. They will be able to make sure.
Hoyt limbs do this on every bow its the composites they use there crap i shot hoyt for 4 years had it hsppen to all my hoyts was finally fed up when my 2010 hoyt maxxis 31 bonecollector ed did it they started splintering and crscking at the edges first the the first layer started cracking and chiping away hoyt has the crapiest limbs on the market i shot on a hoyt team for almost 5 years and couldnt take it anymore how many problems i was having with there bows manily limbs but i finally quit that team and switched to mathews im not saying to switch im just saying itll keep happening to you so you know in the future this is actually happening to my cousins hoyt spyder right now the side split happend last week while we were just indoor shooting.
And yes those limbs will fit there the same just different decals there doing this for anyone ordering limbs now cause they discontinued the older looking limbs theyll fit fine and splinter right up for you lol
Haha thanks man, ya i have acouple buddies that have the same thing happening. As long as they fit then thats all good.
same thing happened to my buddies bow, hoyt has replaced 3 sets of limbs because of the same reason for him. On the 3rd set they gave him the Bone Collector limbs because he stated how unhappy he was.
thats just how crappy hoyt bows are built they put to much thought into there riser rather than there limbs and cams it happens to all hoyts i forgot whats its called now but the composites they use in the limbs cant handle all the shots or stress and it seems to splinter apart usually right by the bend of the limb not always though ive seen some on every part of the limbs they just need to use or find a better composite but thats why i shoot a mathews dont have to ever worry about that.
wow seems like solocamin1 thinks every hoyt bow should be throwed over the hill and run out and buy a Mathews.just to let you know im a proud hoyt maxxis owner and have had no problems at all including no problems with the limbs. So as in your previous post you say limb problems with all hoyt bows is hog wash.
im just saying my bestfriend owns a shop and thats all hes been ordering for awhile now is hoyt limbs its been a pretty big problem on most hoyts not all if you call hoyt theyll tell you them selves im not saying get a mathews cause theres alot of great bow companies out but look at the posts above even other members are having or seeing it happen also so im not the only one.
I have an '07 Hoyt Vectrix and have had no problems with the limbs at all, or any other part of the bow for that matter. Not one single issue. solocamin1, you've got the run-on sentence down pat! lol
Sounds like you know a bunch of people that dont take care of their equipment. Hoyt has the strongest limbs out there. The easiest bows to fix from someone dry firing them are hoyts... Press them, put the string on and keep shooting. I know from experience, that they are incredibly strong. Ive owned five hoyts, put thousands of arrows through each, as well as my dads 3 recent hoyts and my brothers Rampage. To sit there and say hoyt limbs are crap just makes you look like a troll, because coming from a mathews shooter it sounds pretty rediculous. Most of the splinters are not structurally harmful and usually come from dings on edges that produce a splinter aka user error. If you had it happen multiple times i would say you need to be a bit more careful with your bow. Anyways, im not just saying this because im a loyal Hoyt shooter (for good reason), im saying this because i cant stand someone who thinks its the manufacturers fault that they mess up their equipment, and then generalize that the equipment is crap when they have no other experience with the equipment.
The hoyt i own now is my 4th hoyt. All the other ones never had any problems, this is the first time ive used any kind of warranty. The few ppl that i know of that have had limb problems were all on the newer style bows. So might just be the newer style limbs.
