I shoot every day, I had just shot 15 arrows had just pulled back for the 16th, all of a sudden it made a thud sound and the string was off. Sorta scared me, I'm taking it to my local shop tomorrow afternoon. Is this something that happens? Should I be worried? I don't see any visible damage.
Possible fatigue led to your form suffering, it is not something that just happens without something causing it. I would not be too concerned about damage not like it was dry fired.
Thanks. I shoot a min of 21 arrows every day, hubby had shot a few and the kid was shooting with me. I’m taking it to local dealer this afternoon. Once they get it fixed I’m gonna ask if they will watch and see if I’m doing it wrong. I shot with my boy at 4h and coach said all I need to do is work on squeezing the release.
Donna have someone watch you from behind when you shoot or are drawing the bow back. Depending on the cam design some have been known to roll the string out of the track if torqued enough. Not sure about the ignite but its possibility. I know someone thats has dry fired their bow accidentally at least 9 times. Just check it over good and have the dealer lookout over yo be safe.
OH SNAP! The bow tech found the reason the strings popped off! A little crack in the noc and the end of the arrow was cracked too. I will certainly be paying more attention to the arrows! It's tough being a newbie.
I have no idea! When I pulled it out of the case, he immediately said "your arrow wasn't on good", I heard it click in but we put it on and it wasn't holding on good. I had them watch me to make sure I'm doing it right, they said I was fine, even the 4H Hot Shot coaches said I was doing good, they let me shoot with my kid. I shoot a lot of arrows thru it, always snot my strings after about 100-150 arrows. I'm slowly building up the draw weight, I'm now up to 40lb with ease. I have a Obsession Turmoil that I hope to be able to shoot by deer season. It's good to have goals. If I don't make it this year, I will next season. I learn a lot from reading on this forum. It helps a lot. I hope to make it across the river this week to watch the big tournament at Mermet Lake, S3DA, Superman Classic and Matthews pro/am. I might learn even more. Thanks.
I'm going to have to agree with Will on this one. I would not blame the arrow. My nephew shoots a mission and pops the sting a bunch due to low poundage .
