My season opened Sept. 15 and I have only been out a few times. We were totally stuck under a dome of summer high pressure, and it brought ESE winds and temps in the mid to upper 80's for about 2 weeks. I simply do not enjoy hunting in the heat, but I've gone out a few evenings and one morning. I've passed 2 does, seen several others, and saw 1 small racked buck.

A cold front blew through yesterday bringing temps in the mid 60's....Finally. Friday I leave for a heavily managed farm in northern MO, the owner wants a few management bucks taken from the property.

So for those of you hunting already....any updates? Post up the pics if you've been successful.

It is REALLY starting to pick up in my area of Minnesota.

It's been hot, 70's, and finally we've gotten a cold snap. I don't get out much, due to college, but this past weekend My dad, my uncle and I saw a total of 6 bucks.

I saw a "shooter" 8, I was just in the wrong stand.

    My uncle saw two, 1.5-2.5 bucks. 1 5pt and a decent 6pt.

    And finally...my dad...

He said he saw the Biggest buck he's seen in his ENTIRE life, and a spike.

No shots were offered on the the "big" 8, or the one my dad saw.

We leave for Montana on Thursday:D

I've only been out once so far. That evening I saw 10 deer and had 6 In shooting range, It was a good hunt. A doe and 2 fawns came by at 12 yards- I let em go. Right before dark a couple little 1.5 year old bucks came by at 12 yards and let them pass as well. A few minutes later a nice little 90" 2.5 year old buck came by at about 15 yards and gave him a pass as well. This weekend I plan on hunting a little bit harder. I've stayed out of the woods for 2 weeks, letting things settle after checking trail cams and hunting one evening.

Opening weekend was a bust for Kanga and I. We each got busted by does. It was hot, mid 80s in the evenings and the winds were swirling. I was also busted by a bunch of feral hogs. I'll get out there again this weekend in east Tx this time rather than west Tx. and we got a cool front today so temps will be much more conducive to hunting. I'll also be taking a couple of vacation days to hunt and will be in the woods from Oct. 15th-19th. i've never taken 5 straight days to hunt during bow season before.

I have been out six times now and have had 2 does within range with no shot on either of them. I went out Sunday evening and was able to take a hen turkey with my bow. It was my first turkey i have recovered with a bow. Simply awesome. This Friday I will be out again as well as some this weekend. I love this cooler weather!

Almost 3 weeks until our season in NY even starts. We have the WORST DEC in the country without a doubt.

Every other spot I go, all the other stands I chose, everywhere I go I see the same Does:confused:

It was a nanny filled morning. Hitting my number one buck producing stand in an hour, hopefully things will get a little bonier.
