Not new but I also haven't been on here in quite awhile, I retired from the Army back in 2020 after 24 years and now flying helicopter EMS in west TN. I've decided it's time to get back to archery and headed this week to get a new bow, found a great local shop in my area with some knowledgeable and very down-to-earth folks running it. Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for the season!

Welcome back! It’s been a while since I’ve seen you around.

Congratulations on your retirement and thank you for your 24 years of service. You managed to stick it out as long as I did. I don’t know about you but I was really happy to get back to civilian life.

    Welcome back!

Congrats on the retirement and sounds like you have a amazing job now. You should sign up for the deer contest here. Give you great motivation to jump head first back into bowhunting! Plus being active on a team will help keep up with fellow bow hunters here.

    Yes. Yes it does.

When I first retired from the military people would always ask me if I missed it. At first I always said that the only thing I missed was not having to decide what to wear every day.

Once I’d been in the civilian workforce a while I really started to miss the no-nonsense way of handling work related problems.

Nailed it! Now I deal with multiple layers of management who all just sit on their hindquarters and don't fix problems lol
Although......I guess that's not too much different from the Army, ha!
