    While we all agree the intent and the outcome were a positive a game animal was shot, and killed, and taken from private property. This is a game law violation in my state, it's called poaching and tresspassing. Both of which carry heavy fines and loss of license. Institutionalized or not, those are the facts.

    Personally, I have no issue with what anyone did. However, by the letter of the law the officer was wrong (in PA anyway). This is one of those cases where the law isn't necessarily the "right thing to do."

    you did right by controling yourself you woulda probably got arrested.Now if your friend feels like he has a bone to pick call the sheriff or chief & air his grievances to assure it doesnt happen again. glad they did the humane thing for the animal though all in all its just a situation you need to learn from the animals thats on our land isnt ours til they are harvested & recovered til then they belong to the state
