I have had the first week off for PA's archery season, I have passed up two opportunities now to harvest a mature doe so that my fiance could have first shot at getting a deer on the property. I have never harvested a deer with a bow an this is her first year hunting. I really could use some advice on the effects of harvesting a deer has on the hunting area. Any advice?

I killed my doe in PA on Wednesday morning and irregardless of the blood (she bled out big time where she fell, but we gutted her a distance away) the deer returned that evening to the scene of her demise. --even the deer that were with her when I took her and few new bucks. Didn't seem to bother them, especially where there is either a food or water source. I have to be honest, I was kinda shocked, but the game camera told the tale.

So, I'd say go right on ahead and harvest your doe.
