How to talk the wife into.....

    You can access BLM land on either side of the property so I could hunt there without owning the land.I was thinking maybe buying it for a long term investment.

    I just bought some land in Southern IA and pitched it to my wife as a good way to further diversify our investments. I talked to her about the instability of the current economic situation and the fact that times like these make for good buying opportunities for people who are fortunate enough to still have the means to purchase recreational land.

    All true statements, although I did overemphasize a few things that worked in my favor, such as "just think about it, if the entire monitary system collapses, we'll always have a place to grow food!"

    I would pitch the divesifying the retirement portfolio, adding real estate is seldom a bad idea.

    Property is an investment, not a purchase... it will NEVER decrease in value!!!!

    Damn right I do but she controls the check book.:sad: I planted the seed in her head now it is just going to take a little time for the Idea to blossom or die.

    That's south of where I'm looking. It's west of Lake George and North of HWY 24

    My mom use to have 20 acres at bear trap and if I was born a bit earlier I would of bought it from her.
