Im from Ga ,I remember when the invasion came in from Fl driving up lease prices.Lately I have been going out of state.I submit the answer is to make as many states possible booner states.Ga has good deer we just have a 2 buck rule. I wish we were a 1 buck state I would just stay here. Southern folk and Northern folk should encourage southern folk to pursue laws that have a one buck rule in their own states.

So are you upset with nonresidents or our DNR allowing 2 bucks? I'm having trouble connecting the 2. I have no problem with nonresident hunters, they pay to hunt the state just like I do and the DNR says they can take 2 bucks...just like myself.

Na ,Im not upset with anybody and Im not trying to be hypocritical.Trying to say if other states copycat the midwestern states those states will produce good bucks also. Some states wont be nearly as good as say Wisconsin but they certainly would be better than they currently are. People would begin to hunt their own state a little more thus evenly distributing pressure in all states. One buck rule is just something to consider. When folks have two tags at their disposal ,some dont hesitate pulling the trigger on the 1st buck they see around. If a 1 buck law were implemented in Ga (which has a lot of potential) in thre years or so there would be a difference, thats just a fact.A lot of room for compromise is at play here.Say for instance even a second tag with the provision two or three does are taken 1st. Personally Im for taking two does before a buck tag is issued for the first year. Also ,quota hunts on wmas would help make them huntable for kids again.I just know what I experienced on public land out of state.Ihad rather hunt their public land than most private in Ga ,and I do.

Im not upset with nonresidents as I am guilty of such myself.I am just suggesting with the right management the issues all take care of themselves. They(me) would stay closer to home to hunt if the hunting were better.I know of a place that is bow only in another state that I go late into the year January, and consistently watch nice bucks .Even if I dont get a deer the solitude is worth it.Most people in this state already have a nice buck or have given up.There isnt much pressure.Ga is simply overhunted.I would rather kill 1 160class deer than a 100 and a 135class but thats just me.
