Just thought I'd share this with everyone. For those that like to read you should check out the book How to shoot the bow and arrow by Saxton Pope. I downloaded it for free on my iphone in the ibooks section. I usually read when im in the John or when right before going to bed. I personally could not put this book down. From begining to end I just found the adventures of Saxton Pope and Arthur Young to be awesome. These guys are the reason a lot of us measure bucks as Pope & Young bucks. For all of you that like to read i recommend getting this literature and you will certainly appreciate it. These guys picked up the bow almost by accident. They came across and indian named Ishi out in California who just so happend to be the last memeber of his tribe. They lived and studied with him and he taught them everything about hunting and shooting. I won't reveal too much for those that haven't read it but this story is a romance of archery that if you don't already love to bowhunt you most certainly will after you read this :moose:

I have learned a great deal reading books about hunting, even though I swore them off I still pick up a hunting mag once in a while and I read them cover to cover and don't feel like I learned anything. Books on the other hand go into depth then again it has chapters not pages. Found it on amazon, next airplane ride it is coming with me

    Awesome!

Just an FYI...For all of those that do read the book keep in mind it was written like in the early 1900's so A LOT has changed since then. These guys were children of hunting with the bow and arrow. They were taking shots at game sometimes at more than 100 yards! They were doing things most of us wouldn't even do at all. But because of their adventures a lot of our current hunting ethics and codes are in place. These guys were true students of the sport. I enjoyed reading it!

I am about 3/4 done with the book, it is very interesting. Some of my favorite quotes from the book about hunting deer, Does are not deer and only a starving man should shoot a fawn.
