ok iv never really been to hung up on score but id like to know how its done. i went to B&C website and tried doing it on there but im kinda confused. a g1 does not equal browtine right? it is the first tine past the brow tine rt?
and do you count the end of the main beam as a scoreable point and measure it the same as you would any other point, or just as the main beam length?

my reason for asking is i have 1 buck officialy scored. large 7 that scored 129 4/8. i have a massive 9 that i wanted scored. first time i did it scored 137 which i know is wrong judging it against the other. wider, longer tines, more mass, and more points. almost perfectly semetrical as well. then i scored it again and counted the main beam as a point and came up with 167, which seems closer to my origanl thoughts. so can anybody help clarify this for me?

    Typical points.

    G1- Brow tine.
    G2- 2nd point.
    G3- 3rd point.
    G4- 4th point
    G5- 5th point.

Main beam Is measured from the bottom bur on where the main beam starts and Is measured all the way to the end o the beam.

Mass measurements. 4 on each main beam. Measure around the beam, not across.

H1- smallest diameter between the G1 and the bur.
H2- smallest diameter between the G2 and G1.
H3- smallest diameter between the G3 and G2.
H4- On an 10 point- smallest diameter between the G4 and G3.
H4- On an 8 pointer- measure the distance between the very last point and the end of the main beam. From there cut the measurement In half and measure at that point.

Inside spread- measure In between the rack for Its greatest spread.

Add the total and you have the gross score.

No It doesn't count as a point. Just the main beam length.

ok thanks. i gota figure out what i did wrong then. i know the 9 is definatly more than 7 inches bigger than my 130" 7. it has 5 in" mass dwindling to 4 1/4 at the next to last diameter measurement. 10 in" tines dwindling to 9 1/2. 19 3/4 in inside spread. to me its huge difference in comparison. i think i gota watch somebody do it. even with the calculator i think i screwed up some how

I have the score sheet in a word document on the computer at my office. I can send it to you if you would like. All you have to do is follow the directions. Shows you exactly where to do all the measurements!
