Hey guys, I'm going to Texas in April for a turkey, hog, and axis hunt. I was wondering what I should do about bringing the turkey back to Illinois to get fully mounted? Thanks

Ask your taxidermist. They all have different preferences.

+1 on asking your taxidermist. I have heard people say to slide the turkey into a pair of pantyhose to keep the feathers laying down flat and protected.

Again ask your taxi but I have heard of people wrapping it snug with saran wrap and transporting in a cooler with ice

For sure ask your taxidermist because of what was mentioned.....they all have their own preferences. any bird that I am goin to mount I slide into panty hose head first to keep the feathers protected and flat and then wrap it in a garbage bag and put it in ice. You can also fold cardboard around the tail feathers to keep them safe
