Im just starting out its going to b my second year with bow hunting, i shoot my bow at sixty pounds and i never really thought much about the tip grain, until i read something on how much it can effect your shot, so i was wondering how do you choose the right grain for you. and how you poundage also has a factor in it?

Go to your local archery Pro Shop and tell them what poundage you are shooting, what spine arrows you use and what length your arrows are. They can look up on a chart what weight field tips and broad heads fit your setup.

It might be a good idea to bring your bow and arrows along with you if you have any doubts.

And welcome to BH.com. You found a good home full of guys that will be here to help you out!

If your looking to add more tip weight you might end up having to change to a different arrow also.

Outlet stores might know a little but a pro shop will know alot and be able to help you out sooo much more so in my opinion you will be better off going to a pro shop you might pay a little more but the knowledge and expertise is well worth it.

Exactly, unless the guy running the bowhunting section is an avid bowhunter and really knows what he is talking about, he might not be much help.

If there is one halfways close, go to an Archery Pro Shop and get setup correctly. If your bow and arrows are not matched coeerctly it can be very frustrating trying shoot accurately.

And if you don't have an experianced bowhunting friend, they can teach you a lot about shooting form and learning the right way.

yWhen i originally bought everything last year i went to cabelas. which i thought was my best bet to get people who really know what they are talking about. And they set me up with Muzzy 100 grain. im sure he had everything in mind when he recomended them to me.
