How the heck do you kill a doe? Even though the wind was blowing 20MPH, I decided to go out anyway. I put on an extra layer and headed in to the woods. About 9:30, right after I got done putting toasty toes in my boots :D, I see the biggest buck of my life. He was a ten pointer with about a 22" spread, no joke. He came within 35 yards of me, eating acorns the whole time. A doe comes in as well on my other side. The wind was howling but thankfully to my advantage. Something spooked her and then he took off after her. Man, I sure hope he hangs around. I need to get a doe!
Well, it's actually quite simple. If you run a razor sharp broadhead through both lungs, you can rest assured that she will die. LOL Sit on the food source. A food plot would be great. They'll show up eventually.
Haha, I've been sitting in an oak flat. Seems like every time a doe comes where I need her to be, I'm packing up to leave. Or, something else happens. I'm gonna try a new spot this evening. Wish me luck.
Yep, in certain counties. You don't have to kill a doe before you get your first buck but you have to kill a doe before taking your second buck. I kinda wish that I would have held off on the buck I did shoot, if I knew this monster was hanging around. Oh well, maybe I'll get another shot at him.
