I bought a new string last year, and i wax it about once every two months. but it still seems the string, gets "frayed" and old looking. especially around the peep sight.
should i just wax it more often? what else is there to do to keep it looking new, and protect it from needing to replace it for a long time.
can it be waxed too much?

if its made from 452x that material is notorious for fraying , i use nothing but 8125 anymore , anyways if you have any tubed peep material wrap it around the strings and pull it tight and go up and down the string afew times and let it get all the goop and dirty grime off of it , then take a hair dryer on low heat and go over your strings and wipe it with a clean clothe , then rub some wax on the string and do the same thing with the hair dryer and melt the wax into the strings it wont take much and keep rubbing it in , they will look brand new when your finished
