I'm planning a 6 day hunt at my lease mid Dec. and wondering what's the best way to hunt two areas with two different Bucks in those days. Each are nice bucks and are not hunted much and I plan on use my Lone Wolf hang-on & sticks in one area and my Summit Climber in the other and hunt long days with a compound bow. My question is do I stay in one area three days straight hoping the buck shows up one of the days and then move to the other or should I alternate to not stink up one area to much etc? Or is there no perfect plans? Our Central Florida winds is usually out of the North/NE so both spots should be good as far as wind is concerned. Any advise appreciated.
I would use your gut feeling on what is best and has the most recent buck sign. Personal if it's me and I have a buck targeted and know he is moving through a general area, I'm hunting that spot for all 6 days until I see him. It only takes a minute for him to come through, however if you move from one to the other, I get the thought of I bet he walked through today and second guess myself. I would use your judgment of the wind and be as scent free and quiet as possible when walking in and setting up. Good luck, hope my two sense helps!!
Thanks Marauder, The one buck is huge and very nocturnal so we rarely see him but I think I know where he's bedding and that where I'll be hunting. Both areas I've not scouted much so it's kind of a shot in the dark but I like what your saying.
Lots of cams but these big bucks are never on them. Not sure how they can avoid them all. Kilboars Hunt Club
