I was hunting tonight and I was getting ready to leave my stand when I heard grunting and running. It was a MONSTER buck chasing a smaller one. My tree stand is 30 yards north of a river (the river is 15 yards wide and only 1-3 ft deep). All of this action was going on on the other side about 50 yards from me. After the mature buck chased the little one away he went back east but only 200 yards from my stand. Is there any way to get the mature buck to cross the river?? Grunting, rattling, making a scrape, etc?? What is the best way? He caught my eye and now i want him!!

    Thank you!!

Is the other side of the river area you're allowed to hunt? Deer will swim if needed, or enticed. The decoy might work. Decoy with estrus scent might work better. Rattling might also work. Hard to say.

Move to the other side, if possible. If you rattle right now just tickle together with light grunts.
