So this morning my family started the conversion process from being life long Husker fans to (gulp) Buckeye fans. My nephew committed this morning to play for The Ohio State university.

    So a few questions:

Do I have to sell my soul myself or is this an automatic transaction that happens as soon as I clap rhythmically to the band as they create the script Ohio?

What exactly is a buckeye and why is it a mascot? (Yes I realized you can ask the same about a Cornhusker but when you are born into it you don't ask questions.)

All kidding aside, we are pretty damn proud of him and it will be fun to have another team to cheer for.

    Go Buckeyes!? Is that right?

Wow.... Talking about lucking out! You have already been cheering for one, Bo crazy *** Pelini. He is not a representation of the Buckeyes as a whole.

A buckeye is a nut produced by the buckeye tree which has a shell covered in spikes. It is the state tree.

    Your Nephew is Joe Burrow?

Not so much a Bo "crazy ***" Pelini fan. I think he could be a great D-Coordinator somewhere, shouldn't be the face of a program.

Joe is my nephew. Smart kid with a great football mind, he may not be Miller or Pryor flashy but he will compete at a high level without bringing in baggage. He is still maturing into his body, he'll probably walk onto campus around 220. Lots of stories to tell but ultimately he is the kind of kid you want on the field when the game is on the line.

    1) Ask for forgiveness
    2) Open mouth, insert barrel
    3) Pull trigger
    4) At the Gates of Hell, you will meet Jim Tressman. He will admit you to see Lucifer Himself, also known as Most Unclean, also known as Woody Hayes. Assuming you are loathsome enough, Lucifer will then tutor you in all that is unholy, including being a fan of anything residing in the hideous Pit of Filth we also know as Columbus. He is especially fond of his hellspawn son Urban Meyer.

    Good luck with all that!

I know his game pretty well. I have followed along his recruitment somewhat after tOSU showed interest the last couple months. Threw for tons of yards and TD's my only concern is his level of competition. All small schools down there. Obviously he is a great talent to complete over 70% of his passes and throw for almost 50 tds last year.

Looking forward to seeing how he does in C-bus.

Agreed, the competition is not great in his area. It will be interesting to see how he fairs when things are moving a lot faster than he sees week to week. The game is definitely slow for him at his currentI've been around enough football to have confidence that he has that next level stuff, just a matter of staying healthy and getting a shot. Hard to say if he'll ever see the field at OSU, tough place to break into a significant role.

He would have been a starter at Nebraska, lucky for you guys they can't evaluate talent. Good pick up by Urban to keep some talent in state and off the field against OSU in the conference play.

I assume he was Nebraska's to lose because his father and brothers playing there? Or was he open to other places even if Nebraska had offered?

I am very happy to see a pass first QB commited this year and next year with Danny Clark. I mean it was cool with Pryor and now Millers crazy runs. But I like to see a QB throw the rock more than he runs it.

He was Nebraska's to lose until about 3 months ago when thing really started to ramp up and the Huskers were absent from the mix. The major programs got serious after the February signing day and still next to nothing from Nebraska. At that point the race was wide open.
