Have you tried putting the pack on the stand in stead? If so, I'm assuming you prefer your current method. Seems like the heavier (likely the stand & sticks) would carry better closer to your back.

putting the pack on first eliminated having extra straps to fasten the pack on the stand. more straps= more noise= more weight. I can't stand all the straps. one to hold the sticks on and that's all. plus I risk getting a strap caught in the bike chain. that could lead to a bad wreck. fyi I have a gun rack mounted to my handle bars to set my bow in while riding.

I see. Well, I run a Tenzing 2220 which has a few extra straps built into it.

I used to bike in on some public land I hunt d in PA. I used an ATV gun rack for my bow as well, climbing stand on my back, mini flashlight in my mouth (not sure why I didn't have a head lamp).

I think that biking in just adds to the adventure. it is way faster than walking for sure.

once you learn what pace your body likes you definitely don't get as sweated up as walking either.

If you really wanna go all out try this Kifaru backpack frame. you could carry your 350lb. grandma with it. I have it on my LW climber right now but it detaches quickly and can be used to haul anything. I cant remember the weight rating but its way more than I can carry. just guessing but I think around 150lbs or so. IMG_1297.JPG IMG_1299.JPG
