They teamed up with GamePlan Gear a few years back and made the "Wolf Pack" I think it was called. Never really took off though. Personally I've always liked the fanny pack with shoulder straps and then stand/sticks over the top of that. It really works great. And I always use a bow sling to carry my bow in - stand or not. I love having hands free in case they're needed.
YES... the stick quiver is great although I still use a bungee and then bungee the pack on top of that. I try to go minimal great in the pack if I take one at all. NO catches, they make too much noise and are just one more piece of metal to hit something and make natural noises. Bow in hand
This looks upside down? Why would you want more weight at the top when packing in?? I have a similar set but have them reversed do the seat and wider stand portion are down=more weight lower. ??
Because if I fall I don't want the pointy things stick to the back of my head or back. Plus more weight at the top feels more comfortable for me while walking. The higher the weight the easier it is to carry for me. heavy **** on top, try it. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I also use bungee to attach my sticks and rarely bring a pack, I stuff my pockets with everything I need.
Same as everyone here for the most part. I use the LW stick quiver with my Assault so my sticks are attached close to the stand then droop my backpack straps over the top of the stand so it lays on top of the sticks and then use the chest and waist straps to buckle around the stand also, this helps keep it nice and snug. Like others have said it make it much heavier than the stand by itself, but it works.
This is how I will carry everything in the fall. It's the tool bucket by Sitka. sent from my mini hand held phone
Looks like a good setup Marauder! I need to figure out how I'm going to haul all of my gear in with the LW setup this year as well. I have done it in the past by strapping my Badlands pack on the outside of the sticks, but it was quite bulky with all of my filming gear.
Hey guys. New to the site, been reading for a bit but finally just joined, seems like a good group. I've been using the LW and 4 of their climbing sticks for quite a while now. Had the shoulder sling attachment for the sticks which worked ok but was cumbersome to walk with that and the bow. I did however see a couple videos on Youtube with guys using that shoulder sling in combination with their lineman strap to hold the sticks while setting them up and prevent from having to make multiple trips up/down the tree. Seemed pretty slick. I just bought the LW stick quiver this past season. Read some so-so reviews about it and wasn't going to buy it because of that but I happened to call LW for info on a part number on my stand and the guy who answered stated he was the owner so I asked him about the quiver. He said the bad reviews about them breaking were from guys putting them on/taking them off incorrectly. Basically twisting them left or right at hard angles instead of lifting up and down if that makes sense. I used them quite a bit last season. They weight nothing and distribute the weight of the sticks over the stand well. If you just slap them on/off the stand they can make some noise which was another complaint I read but if you just put your fingers around the bottom of the clips when taking on/off they are very quiet. I'm a freak with noise so I added a little camo cloth tape around area of the stand that they attach to. I've seen guys use bungee cords to secure them but I haven't found that necessary unless I'm throwing my jacket over the back of my stand when walking in to stay cool. My only real complaint with them is the plastic itself can be noisy if you bump them together by mistake and they take a little practice with the stick placement so they all fit together nicely without the feet touching each other and possibly clanging. Other than that I just ordered the Molle II shoulder straps to upgrade from the stock LW straps that aren't the greatest. I read about them on here and am pretty excited to finally have a comfortable set of straps.
I put my pack on first. then lengthen my straps on my stand all the way. with the sticks strapped to the stand I put the stand and sticks over my pack. the straps should be long enough to let the stand go over your pack.then carry my bow in hand.
This worked out pretty well for me last year. It is the way it was from my last hunt last December. There's probably a rotten banana and moldy peanut butter sandwich in there lol. BackPack, hoodie, Hooyman, sticks and stand. Also I have found multiple uses for the bungees while I'm hunting. If I'm running n' gunning and end up on the ground I use them to secure brush and whatnot Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I have an Eberlestock pack similar to the Halftrack with an addition of the buttbucket. I carry my hunting and camera gear in the pack and strap the stand w. steps onto the back of the pack. The weight is a little farther back than I would like, but the pack has a very good hip belt and shoulder strap setup. I have to hand carry my bow or use a sling with this setup.
I couldn't find one. Thought I did but might have been on my old phone. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
forgot to mention, I use the lone wolf straps that are sent with the stand. I'm not sure if aftermarket straps will adjust to be long enough. put it this way. I bike 2 miles and then hike in another 3/4 mile with no problem.
