I'm not saying they are all using. Of course there are natural freak of nature athletes. But I think their is a larger percentage than you seem willing to admit.

My daughter's boyfriend is on a full ride at EKU for the d-line.(turned down air force and navy) He was redshirted this year and told he may start next season. He was red shirted because they had players in his position and they wanted him to put on 20# from the waist up. He went in at 6'5" and 265#. He is up to around 275 now (give or take) and no fat.

This kid played 3rd base for the state runner up high school baseball team and batted 2nd.

No steroids with that young man. Just a gifted athlete.

If they are doing it. And im sure there is some of it going on. They are doing a hell of a job not getting caught. If the 14000 is correct and considering there are about 1700 players including practice squad. That would average 8 test per year totally naked .

The thing we all have to remember is that there are designer drugs out there. What is being tested today was masked several years ago, that is basically how a lot of cyclists got away with EPO. To take someone at their word is not always easy because lets face it, they have something to hide. I truly think it is a lot worse in College than it is in the Pros, one of my favorite players is living proof.

    Have you piss tested him:)

It is not easy to put on 10-20# of muscle without gaining a little extra weight at that age, gifted or not. I have spent 20 years in the gym and have seen it all. I worked out at the same time with a kid over the summer that plays for Northern Illinois University. The kid put on over an inch on his arms alone in a little over a month and wasn't busting his *** by any means, it took me two months to get the truth out of the kid;)

Not going to piss test him. Dont need to. He is a man of character. Not playing to get in the nfl. Hes playing to get a masters and become a rural nurse. To help people like his mother that has ALS.

Yeah, I have heard stories like that as well;) I'm sure there is no way he would ever want to play in the NFL and would never go over the line. Please keep an open mind, I have met many men of character myself and learned the hard way.

Exactly the point. He was caught.

I agree that college players are probably doing it more than the pros at this point.

The real question imo should be how prevalent is HGH in football. To my knowledge, there is still no test to detect them. However what will HGH do for you without steroids.

When this was swirling around baseball, I heard it stated that HGH didnt do much for someone until it was combined with steroids.

But something I find funny is people not believing someone can mature physically after high school. It is not uncommon to grow taller and bigger when your 19-21. Just saw that used as a reason why Mathews was on ped in the above link. Found it funny.:)

I love watching Clay and respect him but I still think he was hitting the sauce. The pressure of making the NFL in a family with the legacy they have was huge. Sure he grew but the amount of muscle he put on is almost unheard of, not to mention the level of play. Steroids also allow people to train with more intensity as well. The part about benching is bogus, in High School I could out bench everyone on our Varsity Team and some were juicing. In High School I could bench 225 for sets of 15 and incline 225 for sets of 10-12, but I also focused mainly on pressing movements and didn't have the biggest arms. The key to what I am saying is Clay today, he likely trains harder than ever but is leaner and is not carrying the muscle mass he had as a Senior at USC.

Jason, I have no idea about Clay and the juice, so I did a google search and that link came up, found it interesting.

No problem Joe, just giving my $.02. I particularly love the part where they argue he wouldn't do roids because of his involvement with Ducheynne, considering all that Lance Armstrong has done for Cancer and the allegations around him:)
