Just thinking out loud here. How often will you move in one hunt if the wind changes directions on you? Do you think it has effected your success? Ever played musical stands to try to stay downwind in one hunt?

So you are saying moving "in your woods" is not feasible?

If my wind goes to hell I'll usually get out and find some other place and park my but there and finish the hunt out regardless If the place I find Is good or not for seeing deer. I figure It's better to sit In a different place with a good wind then to walk back to the truck In daylight spooking deer when their suppose to be moving. Walking at night Isn't so bad, their not so sure on what you are.

I usully move where the deer is,I've sat in a stand and didnt see anything, and seen them down a trail about 50 yards,I'll move down there
and set on the ground, and next day move that stand to that spot.if the wind
change I'll move to the next stand.we hang stands acording to wind.

Steve, that is what I do as well. I usually don't have the problem of the wind changing, but if it does, I like to have a back-up plan.;)

If the wind is variable or likely to switch during the hunt, I avoid my best areas. If the wind does in fact change, sometimes I just stick it out, some times I move. It really depends on the exact location.

I always have multiple stands set up for all possible wind directions. If the wind changes I can go to another spot. But I can't think of anytime that I have had to make multiple changes in the same day? If the wind were that goofy I might just stay in house that day.

    Pretty much never.
If I moved every time the wind shifted I'd never be in stand longer than 30 minutes.

Same here. I just deal with the hand I'm dealt. If the wind shifts, so be it.

Agree 100%. At this point, I'm a weekend hunter only. I'll chance a bad wind vs sitting at home thinking about hunting.;)
